LoeschPack presents efficient packaging systems for hermetically sealed fold wrapping and flow packs

At ProSweets, which will take place from 28–31 January 2018 in Cologne parallel to international confectionery trade show ISM, packaging machine manufacturer LoeschPack will demonstrate its expertise as a system provider for integrated packaging lines for chocolate, chewing gum, and confectionery. “The increasingly high performance of our packaging machines and systems enables us to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of our customers in the highly dynamic confectionery market,” said CEO Thomas Cord. “At stand G030/H039 in hall 10.1, we will present our innovative solutions for hermetically sealed fold wrapping and flow packs.”

LoeschPack is presenting its latest development in the area of hermetically sealed fold wrapping in Cologne: the RCB-HS wrapping head machine. This innovative development is ideal for small chocolate products, combining a hermetically sealed pack style with a traditional fold wrap appearance. “Pioneering in this market segment,” said Cord in praise of the latest product developed by LoeschPack. The CEO of the mechanical engineering firm in Upper Franconia added: “The RCB-HS packages chocolate bars, tablets and neapolitans in a new and innovative way, giving them a premium look and at the same time ensuring excellent product protection against environmental influences.” Consumers can enjoy products with longer shelf lives and improved taste and texture. The chocolate products are presented in a premium fold wrap look. “With top output of up to 600 products per minute, the RCB-HS in this combination is unique in the chocolate sector,” emphasized Cord. The machine produces the fold wrap in one wrapping head and hot-seals the pack circumferentially. The heat bars always seal film against film, ensuring extremely tight packaging and preventing damage to the products. Next, folding elements produce the classical fold wrap. “Our conscious decision to dispense with glue to seal the packaging reduces soiling of the machine, minimises operating costs and simplifies machine operation,” said Cord. The RCB-HS is precisely tailored to the requirements of sophisticated chocolate manufacturers that want to present their products at PoS in a premium look and require high system efficiency and format flexibility, but refuse to settle for less than perfect hygiene.

The “F-Series” for top flow wrapping performance

The high-performance F-Series platform for packaging chocolate, wafers and chewing gum in flow packs is another of LoeschPack’s exhibits at ProSweets 2018. “Our F-Series flow pack system solutions represent top performance, outstanding overall equipment effectiveness and excellent format flexibility combined with low packaging costs,” said Cord.

Brief format changeover times of less than 15 minutes and a high cycle rate at top efficiency yield high performance in production halls. Every setting can be precisely reproduced, guaranteeing stable machine operation after a very short time. Intelligent process engineering for the seal modules means fewer rejects when stopping and starting the packaging machine. The F-Series detects the existing product supply in the feeder, adjusting cycle speed and seal pressure to it. This adaptive seal pressure management is one of the main advantages of the flow wrapping machine and since the series was launched in 2015, has been a standard feature of the longitudinal sealing rollers. “From 2018, the technology will also be available for horizontal sealing. This will help our customers to boost machine efficiency and packaging quality to approach the optimum,” said Cord. The F-Series is almost completely resistant to fluctuating ambient conditions. This is achieved by a unique flow wrapping machine configuration in the feeder. Depending on ambient parameters such as temperature, humidity and the specific product characteristics, the F-Series independently controls the optimal feed of the products to the lug chain. As a result, the machine runs much more smoothly and with fewer faults, even at top cycle outputs of up to 1,500/min. In addition, the new product series features improved hygiene characteristics, meaning fewer interruptions for cleaning and a simple, time-saving cleaning procedure. “Excellent operability, tool-free belt replacement and outstanding maintenance access make operating the flow wrapping machines in the F-Series a true pleasure for operators – and contribute to the system’s increased efficiency as well,” said Cord proudly. Alongside traditional fold wrapping machinery, the F-Series is easy to integrate in a system with storage, feeder, secondary and end-of-line packaging from LoeschPack.

Gum Information Center (GIC)

LoeschPack is rounding off its exhibition at ProSweets 2018 with an extensive presentation on all aspects of chewing gum. Technical animations, videos and a multitude of fascinating product samples exemplifying many different packaging solutions will be presented. Visitors will find out about the company’s automation solutions for feeding chewing gum slabs into high-performance packaging systems. Our expert team at the ProSweets trade fair stand will gladly explain the details of our high-performance machines from the G-Series, the centrepiece of modern chewing gum packaging systems. Thanks to their high level of modularity and the large number of available variants, the machine platforms can be used for a wide range of packaging tasks.  The company will also be telling visitors about its innovative chewing gum packaging and systems solutions for wrapping, boxing and sealing multipacks in cellophane.
