Committed to sustainability
Ecologically, economically, and socially: Our commitment is varied – but it has a common goal: sustainability We live by this word. And act consistently in its spirit. So that your products are not only beautifully packaged, but actually help to protect the environment during the packaging process. And we’re proactive about this: to reduce our CO2 footprint and further cut emissions, we operate our plant in Altendorf to be as CO2-friendly as possible. With our 712-kWp solar installation, for example. And we also support climate projects.
But that’s not the end of it: in our engineering, too, we pay attention to sustainable, reliable, and efficient machine and packaging solutions. With recyclable packaging materials, for example. And with lower consumption. And an optimized packaging process. And ...

Sustainability in action demands productive and effective steps to make sure it’s truly sustainable. For us, this is a good reason to continuously improve our machines and systems. If not the most important one.
Efficient operations
To ensure that you obtain the best possible OEE, we can carry out individual, comprehensive product flow and plant simulations on request. To identify and avoid critical points at an early stage. The result: fewer and shorter downtimes.
Reliable processes
For the sake of the environment, we work to continuously reduce our energy consumption. By operating our machines with energy-saving servo motors. And by avoiding intermittent movements wherever possible. We also reduce compressed air consumption in our systems. Wherever it’s most effective. After all, we’re constantly analyzing our telemetry data. For the best possible packaging processes.
Sustainable results
Saving superfluous material – our machines and systems are designed to do this. With sophisticated refeed solutions, for example. Because they ensure fewer product rejects. And make it easier to clean the machines. That’s not only good from an economic point of view – it’s also ecological.
Our packaging materials: sustainably good
Reusable and recyclable plastic packaging: EU-wide requirements for the food industry by 2030 are no problem for us. On the contrary, we see them as an opportunity to break new ground together. Such as by dispensing with composites. And instead using recyclable monomaterials. That’s packaging that is just as good and reliable – but better for the environment.
Cold-sealed, heat-sealed, or unsealed, folded, wrapped, or in flow packs: thanks to its wide range of applications, our paper can be used equally well for primary and secondary packaging. Even with fatty or sticky foods and products.

Unlimited design options for secondary and end-of-line packaging, for single packs and multipacks: with our cartons made of solid or corrugated board, your products always cut a fine figure. And they’re also given ideal protection during transport.

Our packaging machines can do many things – but above all, they can package products highly efficiently and sustainably. This is because they can use environmentally friendly, biodegradable, and bio-based films just as effortlessly as any other wrapping materials. Without any losses or compromises in product protection and packaging speed.
Aluminum as a packaging material? Seriously? Sure. Because as a monomaterial, it not only has excellent barrier properties. It’s also easily recyclable. So it can be used for primary packaging without reservation. Sealed or unsealed.

Sustainability principles in the mechanical and plant engineering sector
Economic success, fairness, respect, and responsibility – these are the principles on which our understanding of forward-looking sustainability is based. We therefore act in a socially, ecologically, and economically sustainable manner – and always in line with the definition of the Brundtland Report and the definition of the Council for Sustainable Development in Germany.
We’re also a partner of Blue Competence – a sustainability initiative of the VDMA. Together, we promote sustainability in mechanical and plant engineering. And make sustainable solutions known within the industry. In doing so, we have committed ourselves to complying with the twelve sustainability principles of the mechanical and plant engineering industry:
Strategic
- Sustainability is an essential part of our corporate strategy.
- Sustainable business models allow us to create stable values and secure entrepreneurial success.
- Our technologies and solutions promote sustainable development worldwide.
Operational
- Sustainable thinking and action is reflected in our processes and products.
- We act to conserve resources and are committed to protecting the climate.
- Our employees are our most valuable asset. We promote commitment and opportunities for participation.
- We are committed to respecting human rights.
Cultural
- Our company is a living space.
- We assume social responsibility in our regions.
- We do what we promise.
Communicative
- We engage in active dialog with all stakeholders.
- We communicate our sustainable commitment transparently.

Carbon neutral packaging
We are fully committed to protecting the environment. So much so, in fact, that we’ve geared our value creation process to “carbon neutral packaging”. We are one of the first manufacturers to offer not only CO2-neutral packaging machines – but also their CO2-neutral operation. We guarantee this. For example, by offsetting the emissions released through various climate protection projects. And by planting trees – in the company’s own Piepenbrock Forest in Rheinhagen. There are presently over 100,000 trees there.
We also work to continuously optimize our facilities, use resources sparingly, develop new ways of using recyclable packaging materials, reduce energy consumption, and do everything we can for the environment. For the good of all.
Packaging lines as desired
End-to end solutions
Efficient performance, innovative system solutions, and gentle product handling are our top priorities. That’s why we tailor our packaging lines to your needs. For the perfect interplay of all machines – and the best results. And to ensure that this remains the case, we are continuously evolving. Find out more about what we can do together – in the practical examples of our packaging systems.
