LoeschPack recognized for its dedication to the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact

25.06.2025, Altendorf

Loesch Verpackungstechnik GmbH + Co KG (LoeschPack) has successfully participated in the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact. Bavaria’s Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber, awarded the packaging machine manufacturer a certificate recognizing its dedication to corporate environmental protection.

“The award in the context of the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact underscores our active contribution to protection of the climate and nature conservation. We are committed to environmental, economic, and social responsibility. This means that we practice sustainability in many different ways,” says Andreas Behrens, Deputy Managing Director of Loesch Verpackungstechnik. The Altendorf-based company maintains an environmental management system certified to the DIN EN ISO 14001 standard. LoeschPack comprehensively documents and communicates its commitment to sustainability. The packaging machine manufacturer is guided by the international guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The report provides detailed insights into aspects including energy consumption, resource utilization, and social responsibility.

Sustainable approaches to power generation and waste management

LoeschPack operates its Altendorf plant in a manner that minimizes carbon emissions. The company uses the electricity generated by a 712 kWp photovoltaic system first for its own production. When it comes to waste management, the manufacturer relies on a recycling service for paper towels. Since fall 2024, paper towels have been collected separately from residual waste and recycled. This enables LoeschPack to reduce its residual waste by approximately one ton per year. The German Institute for Sustainability & Economics reaffirmed the packaging machine manufacturer’s sustainable expertise by once again awarding Altendorf the “Assured Sustainability” seal in 2023.

About the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact

The Bavarian Environmental Pact was initially agreed in 1995 with the goal of encouraging companies to exceed legal standards in corporate environmental protection. With the current Environmental and Climate Pact, the Bavarian state government and its partners are working together to address key environmental and sustainability challenges. It aims to encourage business operators to voluntarily engage in corporate environmental protection.
